Richard Bauer Richard Bauer-Woodcarver Richard Bauer has been sculpting animals and figurines for over 50 years. He uses a variety of Vermont natural air-dried woods. He finishes his pieces with wax stains. Richard gets his inspirations by nature and tries to capture the essence of the object he is creating. Richard strikes a balance between realism and impressionism. Each piece is simple in form but shows great detail in expression and mannerism. Every carving is a one of a kind sculpture due to the variations in wood grain and natural defects and growths in the wood.
