Barbara Shaughnessy's pottery is handmade in the USA with stoneware clay translation: good, durable, functional, water tight pots that are oven and microwave-safe, as well as lead free. Barbara fires her pots in an electric kiln and reach a temperature of 2260 degrees. All her pots are hand thrown on a potters wheel. Electric is more dependable for repeatable glaze effects. "I am just a small pottery studio; I make pottery because I love the whole process." Please remember that not all pots are created equal! By that statement I mean that my mugs are not all the same size and the glazes on the outside may be somewhat similar but never exactly the same. This holds true for all of my pottery.
