Magpots Bathroom Accessories Mary Ann Geis of Magpots studio in New Hampton, New Hampshire is proud to feature creative and elegant ceramic bathroom accessories hand made in the USA. Mary Ann (Trumbull) Geis was introduced to clay in the early 70’s while attending Plymouth State University in the White Mountains of her native New Hampshire. She gravitated toward the ceramic studio, where she created her first works while serving as student lab assistant. Her passion for art form in clay was undeniable. Soon after graduation, while teaching art at the high school level, she rented space for a studio in a rehabilitated taxi building in historic Portsmouth New Hampshire. There, she and other talented artists/potters created functional and sculptural works as they shaped their styles and designs. In those days she was working in stoneware and red clay, porcelain was not yet in the mix. Wheel-thrown porcelain, with her beautiful floral, pine, evergreen, and dragonfly paintings, began after a stay in New Mexico and her marriage to Frank Geis. Mary Ann’s paintings are made from a colorant/stain mixed with liquefied clay and applied to the dried piece. After low firing to harden the pots, they are then covered with a clear glaze before high firing in a gas kiln to 2,232 degrees. Each piece is now sealed behind a durable finish, giving her pottery its elegant, shiny finish. She melds function and beauty in her designs to create everyday usable pieces, which can give a lifetime of pleasure. Today, Mary Ann is a state-juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen, and lives and works at her home and studio in New Hampton, New Hampshire. She and Frank have twin sons who are professionals in the music industry, and a young yellow lab named Kaya. Presently she exhibits, with Frank’s help, at high-quality, juried art and craft shows throughout New England, Northern Vermont, Maryland and New York, as well as selected art and craft shops.

Hi, yes I have received my order and everything was wonderful. My experience with your firm has been exceptional, from the first order, the customer service, and then receiving my order. Everything went like clockwork and I could not be happier. I ordered the Sterling Silver Rectangle Earrings as a birthday present for a friend and when she opened them, she absolutely fell in love with them and has worn them several times, received multiple compliments and has been asked where she purchased them. I would highly recommend you company to anyone whether local or on-line purchasing needed S. Beck Baltimore, Md |

Hi, Thanks for the nice note. I just wanted to tell you that the pot rack arrived yesterday. It is beautiful, and I appreciate the personal attention, in addition to your very good prices. We are so satisfied with your service, and we will visit your website often. All our best to you, Nathanne and Fred (my better half) |

Hello Ann You are fabulous! I could never imagine receiving my item the day after ordering. ( Even with UPS from VT to MA ! ) Ann, one of the reasons why I chose your site for this item was your shipping policy, but the reviews made it sound like each of the customers felt like they had experienced a personal transaction. You just don’t get that on web sites. Modern ’’conveniences’’ just can’t compare to good ol’ fashioned customer service. Based on the reviews, I felt confident that my order would arrive on time (By Saturday) and it did - so fast that I’m still amazed. A computerized transaction from a large company would have cost me an obscene amount of money for a rush delivery. (And it still would have taken at least 2 days!) This was a last minute idea for my 7th wedding anniversary. I looked up the ’’traditional’’ gift for the 7th year of marriage and learned that it is copper. I have heard that, among other things, oak trees symbolize many attributes found in a good marriage - Stability, strength, honor, & endurance. Being a person who loves finding gifts that fit a sentiment, I was SO excited to find this product. |
