Hayden Brook Studios At Hayden Brook Studios, they work with dichroic glass (di-chroic meaning two colored). This type of glass transmits light in one wavelength, and reflects light in two wavelengths. It is coated with electronically excited metallic particles in a vacuum chamber. They start with large sheets of glass which we cut into smaller pieces. These pieces are specially arranged and melted together in a kiln to form accent pieces for our jewelry. The glass melts at 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. We set our most beautiful pieces of dichroic fused glass in Sterling Silver. Laurie Hayden and her husband Brook Bergey draw their inspiration from experiences living and studying art in California, Nevada, and Peace Corps (Africa and Jamaica) as well as traveling in Europe and North America.
